Cable types and length for IR Emitters

All of Biamps’ emitters have 3-meter-long cables. In some cases, 3 meters may not be enough, and you will need to extend the cables. When extending the cables, be aware that the cable quality and type will significantly affect how far you can extend the cable without compromising reliability.

Using a standard Cat-5 cable to extend an IR emitter is possible, but using a twisted cable considerably reduces the total useful cable length. For the best result, use high-quality cables with reasonably large cable diameters.
