3: Other Actions Guide - Invitations, Floor Plans, Overviews
After creating an organization, the optional Other actions guide in Workplace is available to walk you through the following operations to finish building out the organization:
- Invite individual administrators and users to the organization.
- Add floor plans to help users find desks and rooms.
- Add an overview screen to show the layouts of buildings in the organization.
Resources to have on hand
Floor plan images
As discussed in the Creating an organization article, you can upload image files of physical floor plans and add them to floors in Workplace. You may then place the room and desk resources on the floor plan. Populated visual floor plans can be made visible to end-users on the Biamp Workplace Book mobile app.
Biamp recommends having floor plan image files ready to upload as part of building out an organization during its initial creation.
Email addresses for individual invites
Email addresses are required for sending individual invites to users, admins, and other owners. An accessible list of emails may be useful for small and medium organizations or small sets of individuals such as when inviting organization admins to join.
Inviting administrators and users
Invites can be sent to individuals by following the Other actions guide and sending invitations to their email addresses on the Users page of the Workspace admin console.
Individual invites
Clicking on the Invite users button in the Other actions guide will take you to the Invited users page. This linked article explains the steps for inviting individual users on this page and the other User pages.
Adding groups of users
Biamp Workplace uses GraphQL for API integration with third-party solutions, including Google and Microsoft identity provider services. The Getting started guides do not cover API integration.
- For an overview of Biamp Workplace's API, please see Biamp Workplace API.
Add floor plans
Floor plans are added to existing building floors found under the Locations page (see the map pin icon in the navigation pane of your organization's administration console.)
- Please see: Add Locations: Sites, Buildings, & Floors.
Add overviews
This step in the guide takes you to the administration console's Overview screens page.
Here, you can design an overview screen to show users information on desks and rooms in the system. This information can be shown on smart displays connected to the system.
