Workplace Command: Qt X Best Practices

This article provides best practices for making your Qt X project easier to monitor and control in Workplace Command.

As a Workplace Command Admin, you can add Qt X Zones to a Canvas, where you, or any Workplace Command User or Admin, can monitor and control them as Command blocks. Workplace Command automatically pulls information about these blocks from the Qt X system. There is currently no way to customize the way a Command block looks from within Workplace Command, but you can adjust its name and behavior by editing the Qt X system itself.

Zone names

Workplace Command displays each Zone by its name. By default, Qt X will name these zones "Zone 1," "Zone 2," and so on. Customizing the name of each Zone can help you and other Workplace Command Users and Admins identify that particular Zone's location.

You can edit a Zone's name from the software or web interface.

Background audio source names

Workplace Command displays each Background audio source by its name and allows you to select the active Background audio source for each Zone. By default, Qt X will name analog port 1 "Input 1" and assign it as a Background audio source for all Zones. Customizing the name of each analog and networked Background audio source can help you and other Workplace Command Users and Admins identify that particular source.

You can edit a Background audio source's name from the software or web interface.
