How licenses work

Manage and Monitor licenses are assigned to locations in Biamp Workplace organizations. All Workplace-supported Biamp devices operate under the license of the location they are assigned to.

New devices with included licenses

Each Workplace-supported Biamp device comes with a 12-month Manage and Monitor license included at purchase. This means that it will generate a 12-month license when added to a location. Each time a new device with a Manage and Monitor license is added to the location, any pre-existing location license will reset to 12 months.

A device only generates a single included license. Once it has generated an included-at-purchase license for a location, it will not generate another if moved to a subsequent location. However, the license can be moved within the organization (see below).
Additionally, it will not generate a Monitor and Manage license if it is unregistered with the Workplace organization and then assigned to another organization and location.

Moving licenses

Once a license is generated for a location, it can be transferred to a new location within the same Biamp Workplace organization. It cannot be transferred outside of the organization.

Note: Transferring a license means that another license will have to be acquired and assigned to the location if you intend to continue using devices assigned to that location.

Recap

Each Biamp Workplace-supported device will generate one 12-month included-at-purchase Monitor and Manage license when assigned to a location. Once a device has generated a location license, that license can be transferred to another location within the same organization.
