Soccer Field

This system design template describes three loudspeaker designs for a typical high school soccer field.  Scenario 1 uses loudspeakers mounted on light poles to cover the seating area only. Scenario 2 adds speakers to the same poles to provide coverage on the field as well. Scenario 3 uses loudspeakers mounted on a scoreboard to cover both the field and the seating area.

Design Scenario 1 : Pole mount - sideline coverage

Pole Mount -Sideline Coverage

In this design scenario the loudspeakers are pole mounted 50 feet above the ground on light poles about 180 feet apart. Each loudspeaker aims down sharply to focus on an individual zone, minimizing coverage overlap. Seating may be on the ground or small bleachers.

Alternative Coverage (two to three (2-3) loudspeakers - not shown): If mounting heights must be low and not aimed as sharply down, use only one (1) signal-delayed loudspeaker on "Pole B" aimed away from "Pole A". Or, use a larger model on "Pole A" to address the full "Pole B" zone (no loudspeakers on "Pole B").

Design Scenario 2 : Pole mount - sideline and field coverage

Pole Mount -Sideline and Field  Coverage

In this design scenario loudspeakers are pole mounted at least 30 feet above the ground on light poles about 180 feet apart. Seating may be on the ground between the poles or on small bleachers.  Higher mounting points are preferred to minimize the effects of artificial echoes, ensuring good intelligibility.

Another option is using only one loudspeaker array position to cover the sideline area (as explained above) to consolidate the loudspeakers on one pole.

Design Scenario 3 : Scoreboard

Scoreboard Coverage

In this design scenario, single or dual R2-52Z or R2-52MAX loudspeakers are mounted on the scoreboard to cover the middle of the field and the far sideline.

Option A : Single cross-field red arrow; light green color coverage. Great coverage for the viewing side and great speech intelligibility.

Option B: Two yellow arrows from the scoreboard to opposite corners of the field. Expanded coverage providing a wider listening area along the entire sideline.

Amplified Loudspeaker Controllers

Biamp's line of Community Amplified Loudspeaker Controllers (ALC) offers factory-optimized DSP processing, protective limiting and amplification, as well as signal routing, zone switching, and remote monitoring for virtually any Community loudspeaker application.

Standard Ethernet communication protocols allow for fast system design, system control, and remote system monitoring. Analog and Dante® inputs included in each model are assignable per channel in static or failover/backup configuration, supporting quick and easy integration into any new or existing system.

Community-authored loudspeaker presets include equalization, high pass filters, and multi-stage limiters tailored to each model, ensuring consistent sound quality and full loudspeaker protection in every application. Additionally, each Community loudspeaker preset includes loudspeaker power and impedance information, allowing the system configuration software to display the total power and impedance of multiple parallel wired loudspeakers, further reducing the time and effort required to match complete loudspeaker systems with the appropriate ALC models and output channel configurations.

In-depth control and monitoring is accomplished via ArmoníaPlus® system manager software.
