Evoko Home - Bookings suddenly not syncing

Microsoft has depreciated APP connections used by earlier versions of Evoko Home. This is causing bookings to not synchronize.

Problem behaviors:

  • Meetings booked on-screen resulting in prompted errors.
  • Meetings booked through Outlook not visible on the Liso panel.

Issue reported: March 4, 2025

Software version: Evoko Home v2.8.2

Detailed problem statement: Microsoft is retiring the use of RBAC Application Impersonation in Exchange Online. Previous versions of the Evoko Home App used Application Impersonation for syncing Calendar events between Microsoft 365 and Evoko Home. As such, these previous versions will no longer function.

Solution overview

  • You will need to abandon the existing RBAC connection and set up a new connection using Microsoft Graph.
  • Upgrade to Evoko Home v2.8.2 if you have not done so already.

Required Software

Evoko Home

Make sure you are using Evoko v2.8.2 or later. Evoko Home v2.8.2 is available from Biamp Downloads.

For Windows installation (Server 2016 and newer):

For Linux installation (Ubuntu 20 / 22 LTS):

The Evoko Home installer will detect your existing Evoko Home server and migrate its data during the update.

Fixing the Microsoft environment

Refer to the Cornerstone documentation for how to prepare for Evoko Home v2.8.2:

Notes

  • Please make sure you are creating new instances and app registrations to make this as smooth as possible.
  • The provided guide is a proven solution that is guaranteed to work, and these settings are needed to pass the wizard.
  • If you deviate from this guide, it is up to your in-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365 to validate the changes and troubleshoot issues that might arise.
  • Biamp recommends following this guide first, and then making any changes you require.

Migrating Evoko Home to Graph API

  2. Click Global Settings in the navigation bar.
  3. Scroll down to API Migration for Booking System. Click Migrate.
  4. Enter the Azure AD Application (Client) IDAzure AD Client Secret Value, and the service account used for email sending in Evoko Home. Click Migrate.
  5. A pop-up warning will appear. Click Confirm.
  6. Once the "Migration successful" message appears, the migration is complete.
