Biamp BMA Console software - App Settings deep dive
A deeper explanation of the App settings screen in the BMA configuration software.

The App Settings page

This page in the software pertains to software settings  It can be accessed while online with a microphone or offline.  It has options pertaining to Languages logging and some software behaviors

General section

The general screen pertains to Software settings.  It is on this screen that a user can choose the display language and access the logs.  A user may also decide to hide the undo and redo buttons on the top ribbon.

Note that changing from imperial to metric is not done on this screen, for that setting see this tech note

Logging Options

The BMA software logs pertain to the software and its interaction with the BMA microphones, they are not logs from the BMA mic arrays themselves.

Users of the BMA configuration software are able to focus the logs to various level of severity

The levels of severity are:

  • Error - Errors with the software, these are critical denoting a loss of functionality like discovery failures or a loss of connection.
  • Warnings - Less severe problems that are not a full stop.
  • Information - any change in state of the software.
  • Debug - A verbose log of software activity on the microphone without a full report of beam activity.
  • MeterDebug - A verbose log of software activity on the microphone including a full report of beam activity.

Number of logs files to keep

Below logging level is the number of logs that the software will retain.  These are kept by date and are cleared out on an FIFO order.  Values between 0 and 255 are accepted.  Logs are ordered by date.

the location these logs are kept is: C:\Users\*your Username*\AppData\Local\Biamp\BMA Config\Logs

Deleting log files

With the "Delete All" button, users can clear out any saved log files.

 

Warnings section

A software user can choose to hide warnings about software updates or when removing objects.

Update manager

A User of the BMA Console software can choose how frequently the software will check for updates and allow removal of any downloaded.
