EasyConnect MPX 250 firmware is available for download on biamp.com's Download page.

Version 1.2.1

March 2026

New features and functions

  • Lock active button when port is in use.

  •  Disable buttons when port is not connected.

  •  Possible to change power balancing mode between “Fair share” and “First come, first served”.

  •  Select port roles for user ports. This is an advanced setting that changes the way a connected user device communicates with the OMPX 250

  •  Turn off USB3 on passthrough-ports. This setting will only specifically disable the USB3 protocol, not USB as a whole.

  •  Turn off USB passthrough when no port is active. This setting will disable downstream equipment when no port is chosen.

Improvements

  • Daisy-chain communication stability.

  • Automatic switching in daisy-chain topologies.

  • Video and USB stability and performance, including:

    • User experience when connecting to Cisco video bars using USB-C.

    • User experience when connecting to Lenovo Thinksmart Core Gen2 using USB-C.

    • User experience when connecting to Neat Bar Gen2 using USB-C.

    • User experience when connecting to Yealink A40 using USB-C.

    • Video stability when using Apple MacBooks.

    • USB3 stability when connecting device via USB-C pass-through ports.

    • Better support for charging older HP and Dell laptops.

  • Support for connecting Windows MTR using USB-C to USB-C cable on UC port.

  • OTA Firmware update stability and performance.

  • Communication with MPX Management Console.
Laptop setup video to screen faster. Video setup duration depends on device model, screen and how switching is done:

    • Up to 30% faster video setup sequence.

    • Applies to all topologies (stand-alone, room kit, daisy-chain).

Changes

  • Default power role on laptop ports is now DRP (Dual Role Port). This improves compatibility when connecting computers using a USB-C to USB-A cable.

Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where USB error notifications appeared on laptops when using Windows UC configuration.

  • Fixed an issue where Administrator mode password was required, even if no password was set.

  • Fixed an issue where setting "Disable buttons for port" and "Disable port when it is not active" did not perform on a per-port basis.

  • Fixed an issue where MPX 250 and MPX 250 EXT LEDs did not show the correct state.

  • Fixed an issue where Mac M4 would restart when no screen was connected to the MPX 250.

  • Fixed an issue where in rare cases a device connected to port 4 would show a "ghost screen" when no port was active.

Known issues

  • Disconnecting HDMI cable (on HDMI Only) while Mac M4 is connected on active port may cause the computer to restart.

  • Disconnecting HDMI cable (on HDMI Only) while Mac M1, M2 is connected on active port may give non-PnP video sharing.
