Device Editor: Searching for login strings, then adding them to Biamp control projects

If your Biamp Control system is 2.50 or above it supports login on LAN, RS232 or RS485. After establishing a connection with the device you are controlling, your Biamp Control system waits for the device to reply with a string requesting a username and then a password before sending that information. These strings are not always specified in the operation manual of the device, but you can retrieve them from the device itself.
Connect using a terminal emulator
Using a terminal emulator such as PuTTY, you can establish a connection with your device, send text strings and receive responses. PuTTY supports SSH, Telnet, and serial connections. After connecting to the device, if a username and password are required, the terminal emulator will display a login prompt.
By logging into the device over this connection, you can see the request strings that it will send to your Biamp Control system.

Edit the device in Device Editor
You can now type (or copy-and-paste) the request strings from the terminal emulator into the Biamp Device Editor.

You can set a default username and password in the Device Editor itself, or specify a username and password in the Project Designer.
