Managing and Monitoring Devices in Biamp Workplace
Please note:
- Global device booking settings, such as enabling PIN codes and RFID tags, calendar settings, time, language, and business hours, are managed under the Settings tab.
- Booking device configuration options, such as device template settings, screen dimming, and labels, are managed under the Locations tab for each location
Device management and monitoring in the Workplace Portal UI
Individual and batch device management functions, as well as device information, status, and incident monitoring, are all found under the Devices tab.
Device management functions
Selecting a device on the devices page brings up management options.
Audiovisual device management options on the Devices page
Clicking on an audiovisual device or several AV devices, including Tesira DSP devices and amplifiers, brings up a bar with management function buttons. Booking devices are covered in the next section.
Note: To update firmware, you must open and edit an individual device.
Reboot
Reboots a device or a selected batch of devices.
Locate
Causes an LED on the front of the device to flash, indicating its physical location.
Get logs
Downloads the log for a selected device or multiple devices
Launch
This button only appears when a Biamp Launch-capable device or devices are selected. Selecting this button will bring up a confirmation window with cautions. For more information on Biamp Launch, please see: Biamp Launch Auto Setup.
Unregister
Removes the selected device or devices from the organization. This allows the devices to be assigned to another organization.
Note: Reassigning the devices requires the Biamp Workplace Connect desktop application.
Booking device management options on the Devices page
Assign the latest firmware
Selecting this button brings up a window for selecting either the latest firmware or reverting to an earlier version if available.
Unregister
Removes the selected device or devices from the organization. This allows the devices to be assigned to another organization.
Note: Reassigning the devices requires the Biamp Workplace Connect desktop application.
Opening a device
Clicking on a device on the Devices page will open it as a page, showing information from the individual device as well as the available management options for the device type. Please note that:
- The Update firmware option for audiovisual devices is found here.
- Batch firmware updates are not available to audiovisual devices due to the broad variety of Biamp AV devices.
