Pairing a Touch 8 MAX on a different subnet

Wrench_Bld.png

A Touch 8 MAX device will attempt to discover a MAX Connect on the same network via UDP.  In this case, pairing will happen by simply typing the 4-digits Session ID as shown on the room display Welcome Screen.

If the Touch 8 MAX lives on a different subnet than MAX Connect, however, pairing is still possible:

  • Find the IP address of MAX Connect on the room display Welcome Screen "Internal" tab
  • Enter the MAX Connect IP address on the Touch 8 in the "Type IP" field. This indicates the Touch 8 where to look to in order to pair with MAX Connect.
  • Enter the Session ID as shown on the Welcome Screen

The Touch 8 MAX will store and remember the IP address of the MAX Connect host it is synced to, and unless it is manually un-paired you will not need to enter it again.

When connecting from different subnets, it is recommended to set a Static IP address (or Static DHCP lease) for MAX Connect, to avoid DHCP automatically reassigning the unit a different address and lose the pairing with Touch 8 MAX.
