Why is the "Save as Template" option grayed out in Tesira Software?
What is the behavior
You may have found yourself making a new file that you know you want to use in multiple systems, such as several identical conference room setups, and tried to save your configuration file as a template in preparation for this, only to find the option grayed out.
Why this happens
The reason this happens on a newly made file is because the configuration must be pushed to a device before it will be available to save as a template to be used on other systems. Even compiling the file first or populating the equipment table with physical devices and saving is not enough, the configuration file must be sent to a physical Tesira device.
After the configuration has been sent to a device for the first time, you should now see the option to "Save as Template" available in the File menu.
