Vidi 250 application diagrams

This article describes/explain some examples of use cases for the Vidi 250 in a huddle space or medium conference room environment. These are intended to be used to help understand some of the ways that the Vidi 250 can be used within a system to support both UC or BYOD setups or a combination of both. The Vidi 250 can also be used in a personal office setup with no additional hardware while connecting via USB to a laptop or desktop PC to provide quality audio and video to the far side participants.

This listing is not meant to be all inclusive as the Vidi 250 is designed with a large range of installations in mind using both the optics and onboard mic array, or in some situations where only the camera features are needed to complement other equipment in the room.

Each use case below will have a summary of equipment featured and how the Vidi 250 fits into the solution.

BYOD Huddle Room application

In this application the Vidi 250 is acting as the camera and microphone support device in this BYOD room. The laptop connection via USB allows for DisplayLink video output to the display through the Devio SCR-10. In this smaller room application the audio output will be supported via the display speakers. The Devio SCR-10 has additional USB ports available to support an additional SBC 2 soundbar.

UC Huddle Room application

In this application the Vidi 250 is acting as the camera and microphone support device for the UC appliance PC. This application uses the available ports on the UC hardware for connectivity of the Vidi 250 and SBC 2 soundboard eliminating the need for an additional hub device. HDMI output form the UC hub feeds the display and the SBC 2 soundbar is the primary audio output device in this room. This setup could easily be expanded by adding a additional Devio SCR 10 with the USB 200 to allow for switching between UC and BYOD devices.

BYOD Medium Room application

In this application the Vidi 250 is acting as a camera only device for the BYOD laptop. This system is using the Devio SCR 20 which uses Parle TTM-XEX table microphones to support a larger room. Also included in this setup are in Desono C-IC6 ceiling speakers which are powered by the Devio SCR-20 hardware. The BYOD PC connection is using DisplayLink to send the output signal to the display while using the Vidi 250 as its camera hardware, and the Devio as the audio I/O device.

In this application the Vidi 250 is acting as a camera only device for the BYOD laptop or UC Room system. This system is using the Devio SCR 20 which uses Parle TTM-XEX table microphones to support a larger room as in the previous example. Also included in this setup are in Desono C-IC6 ceiling speakers which are powered by the Devio SCR-20 hardware. The BYOD PC or UC Room connection is using DisplayLink to send the output signal to the display while using the Vidi 250 as its camera hardware, and the Devio as the audio I/O device. The USB 200 is set to auto-switch between USB devices with the UC room system as the default to allow for selection when a BYOD laptop is connected to system.
