Simple Solution: Vocia MS-1e IP change communication error
This article outlines steps to take if you encounter a communication error after changing the IP address from the MS-1e software's context menu. The corresponding IP address in the device's properties must be manually updated to match the new IP address. Failure to do so will prevent the software from locating or communicating with that MS-1e processor.
Applicable for Software / Firmware v1.9.0
Clues that further steps are needed
During or immediately after an IP address change in the software MS-1e context menu, users may observe the following:
- Slower system response
- Errors in the IP configuration dialog
- Temporary instability in device communication
These are expected behaviors and don't indicate a software or device problem.
To Restore Normal Operation
- Close the IP configuration dialog (if open).
- Update the new IP address in the MS-1e Properties.
- In most cases, this will resolve the issue.
- If the MS-1e communication is still unstable, then take the following step:
- Set the software to Offline, then back to Online to re-establish the connection.
Once these steps are completed, the system should return to normal operation.
