PIN and RFID Identification: Overview

Default identification setting

In Biamp Workplace's default setting, any individual with access to an organization's physical site can use free rooms, desks, or other bookable space. In other words, anyone can present can:

Book available rooms, desks, and parking spaces
Check in at available rooms, desks, and parking spaces
Extend a booked time or check out of a bookable space

However, Workplace provides options that require digital identification to use these functions.

Identification types

Biamp Workspace digital identification comes in two broad types. These can be enabled by an organization owner or admins.

RFID for Naso and Kleeo-managed bookable spaces
PINs for Naso-managed bookable rooms

Naso room identifications

Two options are available for enabling Identification on Naso room-booking devices.

A shared organization-wide PIN Code

This option creates a universal PIN code for unlocking all Naso-managed meeting rooms in an organization. The organization admins or owner share this code with users whom they select. It can be used to effectively prevent people from outside the organization from booking or checking into Naso-managed meeting rooms or to restrict those activities to a limited set of organization members.

User RFID/PIN

RFID and PIN identification can be enabled for all Naso room-booking devices in an organization. The option offers identification requirement options for the following room booking functions.

Require RFID or PIN identification to book a room
Require RFID or PIN identification to check in for a bookable room
Require RFID or PIN identification to extend time in a room or check out

Users can use their unique PIN or assigned NFC card to satisfy any of these identification requirements.

Kleeo desk and parking RFID identification

RFID identification can be enabled for all Kleeo-managed desks and parking spaces in an organization. Please note that PINs are not available for Kleeo-managed spaces. RIFD identification for Kleeo offers the following identification requirement options.

Require RFID identification to book desks and parking spaces
Require RFID identification to check into a bookable desk or parking space
Require RFID identification to extend time in a desk or parking space or to check out.
