Workplace Command: Getting Started
Getting Started Guide
Inviting users and restricting visibility
An Organization Owner or admin invites and assign Workplace roles to the users who will utilize Command to control devices in the Workplace Organization.
- For more information on roles please see: Users: Inviting New Users and Modifying Invitations
Rights for accessing the app
The Workplace Command app can be accessed by Organization Admins, Organization Owners, Command Admins, and Command Users in a Workplace organization's admin console on the Biamp Workplace admin portal.
Limiting block visibility
Limits on some block visibility can be set by admin users. This limited visibility only applies to Command Users.
Limits are set by toggling the Eye icon next to the search box (boxed) to see the eye icon for each group and block. Select the appropriate Group (or block) Eye icon to allow which blocks the Command User can see. The default state for the blocks is "Off" (not visible) to the Command User role. See the description of each eye state below in the "Block Visibility" image below.

The Command app interface
Accessing the app
1. Sign in to the Biamp Workplace workplace admin portal (https://workplace.biamp.app/).
2. Select the organization you will be working in.
3. Select Apps tab in the navigation pane and then select the </> Workplace Command app.
Screen Navigation
The app will open in a new window and display a list of supported devices in the chosen location to choose from. The list can be sorted by type or serial number by pressing the arrows. Choosing the device will open the Command screen.
Example: A typical window layout example in the Command app.

Sidebar
- Shows the device name, serial number and location and an icon to collapse the sidebar to provide more viewing space for the Controls on the canvas.
- Search bar - search for control items or groups.
- List of controls. Common Block types are grouped together, listed alphabetically, and have icons corresponding to the icons in the Tesira Software.
- Blocks can be selected / deselected from each element's checkbox throughout the session and will display on the canvas in the order they are selected.
Canvas
Items can be selected from the sidebar and will appear on the canvas. Multiple controls can be selected. As the control blocks are added, they will appear left to right in a line and then wrap to the next line as they exceed the width of the canvas window. The user can zoom in/out and move around the space with keyboard controls or input device (mouse, touch, etc.).
- Blocks which appear in the canvas are "live" and changes will be immediately reflected in the Tesira system and any other connected Workplace Command sessions.
- Blocks appear on the canvas in the order they are selected from the sidebar. They can't be repositioned once they are on the canvas.
- Any changes on the system end (through Tesira Software) must be sent to the system (update configuration) before they are visible in the Command interface. A simple browser refresh will update the Command interface and pull current information from the connected device.
- Note: The layout and number of selected controls on the canvas will be as it was last configured for that user if they are using the same browser on the same device (saved in the cache on the laptop or tablet). Otherwise, the layout is not persistent from user to user or if the accessing browser or pc/tablet is a different one. The user may need to select the controls they want to view or control at the start of each session.
