Biamp hardware environmental limits
Biamp hardware should only be used or stored within the specified environmental ranges. Operating or storing devices in conditions outside these ranges will stress hardware components. This can lead to erratic or unexpected runtime behavior or premature or outright component failure. Environmentally caused equipment failures are typically not covered by Biamp's warranty per the warranty statement on environmental specifications.
Environmental specifications
The specified environmental ranges for each product can be found on Biamp's product data sheets. Please visit the product page for your product on biamp.com to view or download the datasheet.
Standard operating temperature, humidity, and altitude ranges
- Temperature: Ambient operating temperature range 32 – 104° F (0 – 40°C)
- Humidity: 0 – 95% non-condensing
- Altitude: 0 – 10,000 feet (0 – 3000 Meters) mean sea level (MSL)
Certain Vocia life safety products support a slightly wider operating temperature range than other Biamp hardware.
- TesiraLUX are constrained to a maximum altitude of 6,600 ft (2000m) MSL.
- TesiraXEL amplifiers are constrained to a maximum ambient temp of 95°F (35°C)
Standard storage temperature, humidity, and altitude ranges
- Temperature: Ambient storage temperature range 23-149° F (-5 – 65°C)
- Humidity: 0 – 95% non-condensing
- Altitude: 0-10,000 Feet (0-3000 Meters) mean sea level (MSL)
Warranty

This warranty is VOID if the serial number has been removed or defaced; or if the product has been altered, subjected to damage, abuse or rental usage, repaired by any person not authorized by Biamp Systems to make repairs; damaged due to improper or inadequate maintenance; operated outside the normal environmental specifications for the product; or installed in any manner that does not comply with Biamp Systems’ recommendations. This warranty does not apply to damage caused by an accident, power surge, flooding, fire, earthquake, or other external causes. This warranty does not apply to damage caused by abuse or misuse of the product.
Filters and fans
Certain devices have air intake filters which should be regularly inspected and cleaned as necessary to avoid restricting normal airflow through the device.
Devices without filters should also be regularly inspected to ensure that they are clean.
It is not uncommon to see failed hardware that has ingested drywall dust or other debris from onsite construction where no one thought to proactively protect the electronic hardware.
If fans are noted to be noisy (grinding, squealing, whining) or not spinning the device should be referred to Biamp support for immediate service.
