Can I use a Vocia amp without Vocia inputs?
Vocia amplifiers can be loaded with a configuration for a "stand-alone" system with a "missing" Input Device. However, if there are no other CobraNet devices seen over the network, the Vocia Amplifier will power cycle itself (making a clicking sound) in an attempt to recover.
This is why Biamp does not recommend using Vocia amps in systems that do not have CobraNet. You do not need to use any of the Vocia inputs (for example a DS-10, VI-6, or VI-8). You can use CobraNet from Tesira, Audia, Or 3rd party devices. However, some CobraNet must be present on the network to stabilize the amp.
