Workplace Major Functions Overview

A brief overview of major Biamp Workplace functions.

 

Biamp Workplace functions

Device management and monitoring functions

Universal functions for all audiovisual and space booking device types.

  • Remotely monitor devices assigned and connected to an organization

    • The type, model, and serial number of each device

    • The location of the device

    • Status of the device (online, missing, etc.)

    • Firmware status (Up to date, No latest version, Beta preview, etc.)

    • Any incidents presently detected 

  • Remotely manage devices assigned and connected to an organization

    • This includes individual and batch management.

    • Management functions for supported devices include:

      • Reboot a device or devices

      • Locate a device by sending it a Locate request

      • Export device logs

      • Unregister the device from the organization

  • Discover and assign devices to organization locations (requires being on-site where the devices are located)

    • Discovering and assigning Evoko booking system devices requires the Biamp Workplace Booking mobile app. The app is available for Android and iOS.

    • Discovering and assigning Biamp workplace-supported audiovisual system devices requires the Biamp Workplace Connect desktop application (available for Windows and macOS).

 

Booking system configuration, monitoring, and management

In addition to the previously listed universal functions for all device types, Biamp Workplace provides the following booking system functions: 

  • Remotely configure room, desk, and parking space time-booking parameters.

  • Remotely manage Evoko room, desk, and parking space bookings in an organization.

  • View usage analytics for booking assets

  • Enable and configure digital ID requirements for users to access and use space booking functions. 

    • This includes PIN code options, as well as enabling RFID requirements for specified booking actions.

  • Create NFC cards for enabled RFID requirements.

  •  Configure meeting and other booking parameters.

    • Display and interface controls for Naso booking panels

    • Kleeo device smart presence recognition, auto booking, and dynamic extension while the desk is in use, as well as a Book Now prompt when someone sits down at the desk.

    • Option to display a booking user's name at a desk to make it easier for colleagues to locate them.

 

Organizations and locations

  • Create organizations in the Biamp Workplace administration portal
  • Create and set up nested locations within organizations

    • Sites and buildings

      • Floors

        • Meeting rooms and work desks

      • Parking lots

        • Parking spaces 

  • Create site maps and guides for end-users

 

Licenses

Manage and assign licenses within an organization

  • Each location in an organization must have an active license assigned to it in order to manage and monitor connected devices.

  • Licenses purchased for your organization can be assigned to locations using the Biamp Workplace administration portal.

Purchasing licenses for an organization is done outside of Biamp Workplace.

Assigning licenses to organizations as a distributor or reseller

  • Distributors, resellers, or purchasers who wish to purchase and assign licenses to customers' organizations must sign up for access on the Biamp Workplace License Manager portal.
