2: Create an Organization
After creating and signing into your Biamp Workplace account, you can create an organization on the Workplace portal: https://workplace.biamp.app/
Resources to have on hand
Biamp recommends having the following resources ready when creating an organization.
Licenses to add
Have the license keys ready to enter for any bookable devices you will add to the system during its creation. Bookable devices must have their licenses in the system to be available for use.
A good organization name
An organization in Biamp Workplace is the booking and Tesira AV devices of a department, small business, facility, or other group that will be managed using Biamp Workplace. It can contain multiple buildings, floors, rooms, and desks, all populated with AV and booking system devices. The organization name should be intuitive and readily recognizable to everyone who will help administer or run the system both now and in the future. It should also match any standardized naming conventions already in use.
Floor plan images
In an organization, bookable rooms and desks are associated with the floor they will be installed on. Additionally, you can upload an image file of the physical floor plan, and then place the rooms and desks on the floor plan. Populated visual floor plans can be made visible to users to help them navigate the building and find these bookable assets.
Biamp recommends having floor plan image files ready to upload when creating an organization.
List of email addresses for invites
Emails are required for inviting users, admins, and other owners to the organization. Invitations are the only way to add people to the organization.
Creation procedure
1. On the Biamp Workplace portal homepage, select the +Create organization button.
Note: You can create new organizations at any time on the Biamp Workplace homepage.
2. Name the organization and save it by selecting the Get Started button. Note that entering the name in the Organization name field automatically generates an ID in the Organization ID field below.
- You may change the Organization ID before selecting the Get started button. However, Biamp recommends keeping the auto-generated ID if possible. This makes matching the organization name and ID easy for future administrators who will inherit responsibility for the organization.
Selecting Get started automatically takes you to the administration console of your new organization.
3. Use the Get started guide that the console will automatically direct you to. The guide walks you through the following operations in sequence.
- Add licenses to the system to make desk and room resources bookable.
- Add sites, buildings, and floors to the organization.
- Add desk and room resources to the buildings and floors in the organization.
- Note that you can add licenses to the desks and rooms as you create them. You may also choose to add licenses to the desks and rooms on the License page after you finish creating them.
- Get the Workplace Booking mobile app to add and connect desk and room manager devices with the licensed desks and rooms in your organization.
- The Workplace Booking app can be downloaded from Apple's App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
- The app is used onsite in the physical location where the devices are located. Adding the devices requires an NFC connection between the mobile platform with the app and the room or desk manager device.
