Resolving Tesira Error: "Failed to Acquire a Device's Configuration Lock"
What causes this error?
You may see the error "Failed to acquire a device's configuration lock” when trying to send a configuration to Tesira devices. When the software attempts to send a configuration, one of the first things it does is reach out to all devices and instruct them to prepare for a new configuration file. These devices then "lock" themselves so that they won't accept any other commands until the configuration is received. The devices then send an acknowledgement back to the software to confirm that they're locked and ready to go. When you see this error, it means the software isn't receiving that acknowledgement from at least one of the devices.
Suggested Troubleshooting
- Ensure firmware and software are up to date.
- Ensure you have a backup of the system file saved and clear the configuration on all the devices in the system.
- Power cycle the devices.
- Create a simple "dummy" file to push to the system to get it to a stable state.
- Clear the "dummy" configuration and push the original configuration to the devices.
"Failed to send file" error or Device showing as (inconsistent)

If at any point in the troubleshooting above you are getting a "Failed to send file" error and/or any devices are showing as (inconsistent) in Device Maintenance, then a factory reset of those devices may be needed. Even after factory resetting, clearing the configuration again (even though it is unconfigured) may help if you are still getting errors.
