Retrieving logs from Evoko Home and Evoko Liso

This article explains how to retrieve log files from Evoko Home and Evoko Liso devices. Biamp Technical Support may request these log files to aid in identifying the cause of a system fault or issue.

Evoko Home logs

Windows

By default, Evoko Home logs are stored in C:\Program Files\EVOKO\EvokoHome\Logs\

  • ERMService.log: generated by ERMService during startup/restart
  • Evoko-Home.log: generated by Evoko Home using the log level defined in Global Settings
  • install.log: generated by Windows during the installation of Evoko Home and its dependencies

Ubuntu

By default, Evoko Home logs are stored in ~/Evoko Home/liso_files/logs/

  • evokohome.err.log: generated by MongoDB
  • evokohome.out.log: generated by Evoko Home using the log level defined in Global Settings

Evoko Home

You can also read the Evoko Home log from the Monitoring section on Evoko Home.

Evoko Liso logs

Evoko Home

If the Liso is currently Online in Evoko Home, you can access its logs from the Room Details screen.

  • Status Log (monit.txt)
  • Kernel Log (evoko)
  • Evoko Log (messages)
  • Boot Log (dmesg)

Administration

If the Liso is not currently Online, or you are unable to access Evoko Home, you can extract its logs from the Administration screen.

Liso Device Reset USB

If the Liso is not currently Online, and the device is not functioning properly, you can extract its logs using a Liso Device Reset USB drive. Note that this same device is used to reset a Liso to its factory settings. To avoid an accidental device reset, read through this entire procedure before proceeding.

  1. Create a Liso Device Reset USB drive.
  2. Insert the USB drive into the USB port on the back of the Liso.
  3. Power on the Liso by inserting the PoE or power cable.
  4. The Liso will automatically read the USB drive and display a countdown prior to the firmware reset.
  5. Do not allow the countdown to complete. Instead, remove the USB drive and powercycle the Liso.

The logs will now be present in the logs folder on the USB drive.
