Evoko Liso Firmware Updates
This article describes the types of firmware downloads available for the Evoko Liso, and how to update or reset the device.
- A Liso can be updated through Evoko Home
- A Liso can be updated via USB
- A Liso can be reset using a USB
Updating via Evoko Home
Updating using Evoko Home allows remote batch updating of multiple Liso devices. However, the Lisos being updated must be connected to Evoko Home.
Evoko Home can check for firmware updates on Evoko servers or from the local file system. This can be changed in Global Settings.
Downloading the firmware
- From the Global Settings page, set the Firmware search location to Local.
- Download the latest Liso Device Upgrade from Biamp Downloads.
- Move the downloaded file to the
liso_files
subdirectory of the Evoko Home deployment.
Performing the firmware update
- From the Monitoring section of the Rooms page, click Firmware Check.
- If a new firmware is found, click Confirm to download it into the Evoko Home configuration.
- Once the firmware is loaded, click the 🔁︎ Update button in the Rooms list to update Liso devices.
Updating via USB
If the Liso is already configured, updating from a connected USB drive requires authenticating as an Admin via PIN or RFID.
- Download the latest Liso Device Upgrade from Biamp Downloads.
- Extract the contents of the downloaded file to the root of a FAT32-formatted USB flash drive.
- Insert the USB drive into the USB port on the back of the Liso.
- Touch the Update via USB button on the Administration or Configuration screen.
Resetting via USB
Resetting from a connected USB drive updates the firmware and removes all configuration from the device. Additionally, it will disconnect the device from Evoko Home. This is necessary if the Liso is not working properly, or if you are unable to log in to the Liso.
Creating a reset drive
To create the Liso Device Reset USB drive, you will need disk imaging software (e.g., Etcher, Win32 Disk Imager, Rufus). You will also need a USB drive with at least 4GB capacity that is physically small enough to fit into the Liso. Kingston USB drives are known to be incompatible with the Liso. Note that imaging the USB drive will erase all existing data.
Resetting
- Download the latest Liso Device Reset (GZ file) from Biamp Downloads.
- Using disk imaging software, image the GZ file to the USB drive.
- Power off the Liso by removing the PoE or power cable.
- Insert the USB drive into the USB port on the back of the Liso.
- Power on the Liso by inserting the PoE or power cable.
- The Liso will automatically read the USB drive and display a countdown before the firmware reset.
- The Liso will display a message indicating that a firmware reset is in progress.
- When the Liso displays a message that the firmware reset is complete, remove the USB drive and powercycle the Liso.
