VoIP
Overview
Learn how to integrate Biamp’s Vocia MS-1 VoIP port or the Vocia VoIP-1 with many SIP-based VoIP systems.
Background
The LAN 3 port on a Vocia MS-1 allows a Vocia system to receive phone calls over any Voice-over-IP (VoIP) system that adheres to the SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) standard. The MS-1 acts as a SIP trunk, and allows for pages to be made from a VoIP phone.
The VoIP-1 is a paging input, allowing users to call a dedicated SIP extension to make pages through the Vocia system. VoIP-1 can support up to 4 unique SIP extensions per device.
Biamp has conducted internal testing of the MS-1 and VoIP-1 with the following VoIP systems:
- Cisco CallManager
- Avaya Session Manager
- Avaya SIP Enablement Services (SES)
- Avaya IP Office
- Shoretel
- Mitel 3300 ICP
